건축생산워크숍은 실물 크기의 건축물 혹은 일부분을 설계하고 직접 제작해보는 프로젝트다. 워크숍은 건축가, 전문 컨설턴트, 시공자, 제작에 동참하는 장인등이 학생 및 지역 거주민과 공동체를 구성하여 직접 구조체를 짓는 과정을 거쳐, 관련 세미나와 완성 작품의 발표회 순으로 진행된다. 건축생산워크숍은 매년 새로운 주제를 선정, 국내외의 중요한 건축가를 초빙하여 진행될 예정이다. 그 첫 해인 올해에는 ‘가벼움과 무거움’ 이란 현대 목조의 구축 원리를 주제로 삼고, 국내 건축가 조남호와 황동욱, 그리고 해외 건축가로 일본의 겐고구마를 초청했다.

The Architecture Production Workshop is an annual project in which all participants can design and construct an entire life-size work of architecture or part of one by themselves. Architects, consultants, builders and artisans collaborate with students and community members to build the structures together. They also hold architectural seminars and present their final outcomes. The Architecture Production Workshop will be held under a new theme every year and invite renowned local and overseas architects to act as project leaders. For the first workshop of this year, we invited three architects, Nam-ho Cho, Dong-wook Hwang and Kengo Kuma, who directed the project under the theme "Heaviness and Lightness" through which they explored the principles of contemporary wooden structures.
