작업 소개
국립극장은 더 많은 관객에게 공연의 감동을 전하기 위해, 2021년부터 우수 레퍼토리 공연의 고품질 실황 영상을 제작·유통하는 ‘가장 가까운 국립극장’ 서비스를 운영하고 있습니다.
국립무용단의 〈향연〉은 2015년 초연 이후 ‘한국 춤 신드롬’을 일으키며 한국무용을 대표하는 작품으로 자리 잡았습니다. 궁중무용, 종교의식무, 민속춤 등 한국 춤의 정수를 사계절의 흐름에 따라 구성하며, 전통을 현대적인 무대 언어로 풀어내 언론과 관객의 큰 호응을 받아왔습니다.
안무가 조흥동의 절제된 움직임과 연출가 정구호의 미니멀한 무대 미학은 장식적 요소를 덜어내고 춤 자체의 밀도를 극대화합니다. 50여 명의 무용수가 만들어내는 압도적인 스케일과 함축된 한국적 미감은 공연 전반에 깊은 울림을 더합니다.
57STUDIO는 본 작품의 영상화를 맡아, 촬영 설계부터 편집에 이르는 전 제작 과정을 총괄했습니다. 공연의 구조와 호흡을 존중하는 연출을 통해 무대 위 에너지와 집단적 움직임의 힘을 영상 언어로 정교하게 담아내며, 관객이 어디에서든 ‘가장 가까운 국립극장’을 경험할 수 있도록 완성도를 높였습니다.
As part of its ongoing National Theater Close-Up service, launched in 2021, the National Theater of Korea continues to present high-quality filmed performances that bring the experience of live productions to wider audiences.
The Banquet, by the National Dance Company of Korea, has stood as a defining work of Korean dance since its premiere in 2015, earning widespread acclaim for encapsulating the essence of traditional dance in a contemporary theatrical form. Court dances, ritual dances, and folk dances unfold across the cycle of the four seasons, revealing the depth and versatility of Korean movement traditions.
Choreographed by Jo Heung-dong and directed by Jung Ku-ho, the production embraces restraint and clarity, allowing the choreography itself to take center stage. The scale of the ensemble—over fifty dancers—and the distilled Korean aesthetic create a powerful and immersive visual experience.
57STUDIO led the filming of this production, overseeing the entire process from planning to post-production. By translating the structure and rhythm of the stage performance into cinematic language, the project captures the collective energy and visual intensity of the work, enabling audiences to experience National Theater Close-Up beyond the theater.
