작업 소개

57STUDIO는 국제갤러리에서 열린 아니쉬 카푸어의 개인전 《Gathering Clouds》의 전시 기록 영상을 제작하였습니다. 이번 전시는 카푸어의 근작 19점을 소개하며, 물질의 경계를 넘어선 감각과 지각, 그리고 비정형적 조형 언어를 다각도로 조명한 자리였습니다.

작가의 대표 연작인 <비 정형(Non-Object)>과 시리즈, 그리고 신작 ‘트위스트’ 조각들은 고도로 연마된 금속의 반사와 왜곡, 중첩을 통해 공간을 전이시키고 관람자의 시점을 유영하게 합니다. 하나의 물질이 힘에 의해 변형되고, 기하와 유기 형태의 경계에서 새롭게 태어나는 이러한 조각들은 감각과 인식, 시공간에 대한 철학적 질문을 던집니다.

57STUDIO는 작품의 입체성과 전시장 구성, 시선의 흐름이 만드는 긴장과 리듬을 영상으로 담아내며, 카푸어의 작업 세계가 전달하고자 하는 물리적 체험과 비물질적 감각의 경계를 영상으로 재해석하고자 했습니다.

57STUDIO produced the exhibition documentation video for Gathering Clouds, a solo exhibition by Anish Kapoor held at Kukje Gallery.

Presenting 19 recent works by Kapoor, the exhibition offered a multidimensional exploration of materiality, perception, and the artist’s distinctive non-formal sculptural language—pushing beyond the boundaries of the physical.

The show featured Kapoor’s signature Non-Object and Gathering Clouds series, along with a new Twist sculpture. These works, with their highly polished metal surfaces that reflect, distort, and multiply, dissolve spatial boundaries and set the viewer’s gaze into motion. Transformed by force, each sculpture blurs the lines between geometry and organic form, prompting philosophical reflections on sensation, perception, and the dimensions of time and space.

57STUDIO captured the spatial density and sculptural complexity of Kapoor’s work, emphasizing the tension and rhythm created by the flow of the viewer’s gaze within the exhibition space. The video reinterprets Kapoor’s world through a visual language that translates his material explorations and metaphysical inquiries into an immersive cinematic experience.
