작업 소개

《키키 스미스 ― 자유낙하》 전시의 주요 작품과 컨셉을 소개하는 영상 시리즈를 기획 및 제작하였습니다. 키키 스미스가 직접 선택한 향으로 가득 찬 전시장을 시각화하기 위해, 관객의 존재를 장노출 기법으로 촬영하여 마치 향의 잔상처럼 표현했습니다. 짧지만 핵심적인 메시지를 담아, SNS 홍보용 영상임에도 불구하고 관객이 작품의 깊이를 더욱 심도 있게 경험할 수 있도록 구성하였습니다.

We planned and produced a video series introducing the main works and concepts of the exhibition Kiki Smith ― Free Fall. To visualize the exhibition space filled with scents personally chosen by Kiki Smith, we used long-exposure photography to capture the presence of the audience, expressing it as if it were traces of the scent. Although short and created for SNS promotion, the video was designed to convey key messages, allowing the audience to experience the depth of the works in a more profound way.

1980-1990년대를 거쳐 현재에 이르기까지 시대의 굴곡을 유영해 온 스미스는 “나는 여전히 자유낙하 중이다.”라고 말한다. 느리고 긴 호흡으로 주변의 ‘크고 작은 모든 생명’에 귀 기울이며 상생의 메시지를 던지는 스미스의 태도야말로 과잉, 범람, 초과와 같은 수식어가 익숙한 오늘날 다시 주목해야 할 가치일 것이다.
