작업 소개
57STUDIO는 안그라픽스와 협업하여 삼성 스마트 워치 ‘기어 워치 페이스’ 프로젝트의 디자인 철학과 작업 스토리를 담은 영상을 기획 및 제작하였습니다.
이번 프로젝트에서 안상수 디자이너는 “누구에게나 시간은 중요하다”는 인식에서 출발해, 시계 착용자를 우주의 중심으로 바라보는 개념을 제안했습니다. ‘나를 움직이는 시간’, ‘우주 나무 속 시간’, ‘그 원점에 존재하는 우리의 이야기’를 중심에 두고 디자인된 워치 페이스는 우주와 시간의 관계 속에서 존재의 의미를 탐구합니다.
디자인은 한글의 섭리와 조형미를 활용해 각 시(hour)의 자음을 따 만든 안상수 디자이너의 한글 그래픽을 적용했으며, 그의 사진 작품을 배경으로 삼아 시간의 흐름을 시각화했습니다. 또한, 중력을 모션그래픽으로 표현하여 사용자가 시간을 새롭게 인식할 수 있도록 감각적 경험을 제공합니다.
57STUDIO는 디자이너의 작업실 인터뷰와 현장 촬영을 통해 철학과 제작 과정을 담아내며, 시간과 우주, 존재의 본질을 시적으로 전하는 영상 콘텐츠를 제작했습니다.
57STUDIO collaborated with An Graphics to plan and produce a video capturing the design philosophy and work story behind Samsung’s smartwatch “Gear Watch Face.”
In this project, designer Ahn Sang-su started with the awareness that “time is important to everyone” and proposed a concept that sees the wearer of the watch as the center of the universe. The watch face, designed with a focus on “the time that moves me,” “the time within the cosmic tree,” and “our story existing at the origin,” explores the meaning of existence in the relationship between the universe and time.
The design incorporates Ahn Sang-su’s Hangul graphics, which are based on the consonants of each hour, utilizing the natural order and aesthetic beauty of Hangul. His photographic works serve as the backdrop, visualizing the flow of time. Additionally, gravity is expressed through motion graphics to provide users with a sensory experience that enables them to perceive time in a new way.
57STUDIO captured the designer’s philosophy and creative process through interviews in his studio and on-site shooting, creating a video that poetically conveys the essence of time, the universe, and existence.
